BUS 1023 Applied Mathematics for Business (0-6-3)

The course introduces the basic concepts of applied mathematics and statistical techniques. The course will cover the application of percentages and linear models in business situations and decision making. An important component will be the computational skill development of simple and compound interests in real-life situations. Statistical components will cover introductions to statistics terms, organization/display of data and analysis of univariate data. In addition to mathematical methods, the course will also emphasize the importance of logical reasoning in decision-making processes.

BUS 1123 Introduction to Statistics (2-0-3)

This course provides an introduction to fundamental statistical concepts especially Descriptive Statistics, including data types, descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression. It equips students with the ability to summarize, visualize, and analyze data effectively, preparing them for further statistical applications.

BUS 1133 Introduction to Data Science and AI (2-0-3)

This course introduces students to data analytics with a focus on general and actuarial applications. Students learn about common data structures, sources, and quality issues, and gain hands-on experience cleaning and preparing real-world datasets using software tools. The course emphasizes exploratory data analysis and data visualization, the development of professional dashboards, and the responsible, ethical interpretation of AI-generated insights. Students also develop skills to communicate data-driven findings effectively to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

BUS 2113 Business and Corporate Law (2-0-3)

It provides an insight into the fundamental principles of law including contract, tort, and the foundations of the UAE laws including the civil code, insurance law and the judicial system. Focuses on the business aspects of law including an introduction to company formation, financial regulatory framework of the UAE Central Bank.

BUS 2403 Innovation and Entrepreneurship (2-2-3)

This course takes an innovative approach to entrepreneurship by focusing on identifying local and global challenges in social and environmental business, circular economy, and digital business. Students will generate creative, entrepreneurial solutions to these issues. Through project-based learning, the course explores the various business challenges entrepreneurs face in today's rapidly evolving economy. It equips students with the tools to analyze themselves as entrepreneurs, work effectively in teams, understand their markets, and develop the skills to start innovative new businesses.

BUS 2503 AI for Business (2-2-3)

This course introduces students to artificial intelligence applications within business contexts, emphasizing practical implementation and strategic decision-making. Students will examine AI technologies, develop technical competencies using no-code platforms, and analyze the organizational implications of AI adoption.

BUS 3013 Data Science for Business (2-2-3)

This course introduces data science principles and practices in a business context. Students learn to frame business problems, prepare and explore data, apply descriptive and predictive analytics, and communicate insights for decision-making. Using a business-first, applied approach with low-code/no-code tools, students complete end-to-end data science tasks with realistic datasets, producing management-ready dashboards and recommendations that create business value.

BUS 3123 Business Research Methods (2-2-3)

Introduces students to the process of applied research focusing on the collection, analysis, and reporting of reliable and credible sources of information to answer a research question.
