MOD 110 Apply Health and Safety Procedures in Vehicle Maintenance (0-1-1)

This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to apply health and safety procedures in vehicle maintenance. Upon completion of the unit, learners will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of occupational hazards in vehicle maintenance, follow health and safety procedures for vehicle maintenance and apply preventative health and safety measures in vehicle maintenance. MOD 111 Perform Inspection and Maintenance of the Mechanical Systems in Heavy Vehicles (0-3-3)

This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies to perform inspection and maintenance of the mechanical systems in heavy vehicles. Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge of mechanical components and maintenance requirements in heavy vehicles. The learners will carry out an inspection of the mechanical components of the transmission and drivetrain systems, as well as carry out maintenance of the mechanical components of the braking, steering and suspension systems in a heavy vehicle. MOD 112 Manage B Vehicle Technical Maintenance Equipment and Workshop Operations (0-2-2)

This unit standard specifies the outcomes required to manage B vehicle technical maintenance equipment and workshop operations. Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to manage technical workshop maintenance procedures, plan technical workshop operations using maintenance equipment and measurement devices and conduct work using maintenance equipment and measurement devices. MOD 113 Maintain B Vehicle Ancillary Systems (0-4-4)

This unit standard specifies the outcomes required to maintain B vehicle ancillary systems. Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to maintain engine cooling, oil, fuel, engine air intake, and electrical systems. This unit focuses on essential vehicle components. This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies to utilize equipment to maintain vehicle electrical systems. Upon completion of the unit, learners will be able to utilize measurement equipment, utilize air conditioning equipment for light vehicle maintenance and utilize specialized equipment for vehicle maintenance. MOD 115 Maintain the Electrical System for Heavy Vehicles (0-4-4)

This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies to maintain the electrical system for heavy vehicles. Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to inspect the engine starting and operation system, maintain the Protection Control Box and the power source system, in addition to troubleshooting control panel and display screen malfunctions in heavy vehicles. MOD 116 Maintain the Glow plugs, Lighting and Transmission Systems for Heavy Vehicles (0-3-3)

This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies to maintain the glow plugs, lighting and transmission systems for heavy vehicles. This unit builds upon the procedural knowledge attained by completing the 'Maintain the electrical system for heavy vehicles' unit. Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to inspect the lighting system and maintain the glow plug and gearbox electrical systems in heavy vehicles. MOD 120 Demonstrate Knowledge of Computer Hardware, Networks and Security (1-0-1)

This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills of computer hardware, networks and security. Upon completion of the unit, learners will be able to explain the main components of computer hardware, explain computer software and networks as well as the importance of information security, computer safety and copyright law. MOD 121 Conduct Basic Operations in Mathematics (1-0-1)

This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies to conduct basic operations in mathematics. Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to apply decimal rules and exponential laws, in addition to using fraction rules, scientific notations and geometric calculations in mathematical operations. This course is delivered 100% on HCT campus by HCT faculty.

MOD 210 Demonstrate Knowledge of the Fundamentals of a Vehicle Air Conditioning System (0-1-1)

This unit aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills of the fundamentals of a vehicle air conditioning system. Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the core principles of an air conditioning system and the operation of a vehicle air conditioning system. The curriculum is structured to empower participants to systematically inspect, evaluate, and replace components within vehicle air conditioning systems, showcasing their proficiency in applying theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios. MOD 220 Maintain the Lighting and Auxiliary Systems for Light Armored Vehicles (1-2-3)

This unit aims to provide learners with knowledge, skills and competencies to maintain the lighting and auxiliary systems for light armored vehicles. Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to maintain the lighting system, troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in the air pressure system, maintain the electrical components of the air pressure and the air filtration systems, in addition to diagnosing the electrical malfunctions in fire suppression.
