Accreditation and Academic Quality Assurance

HCT holds institutional licensure to operate as a higher education institution in the country from the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the United Arab Emirates.

Moreover, HCT has received international accreditation from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), UK’s independent body and a global leader in quality assurance for higher education. The global accreditation is awarded to institutions that have passed the QAA’s rigorous International Quality Review (IQR); an independent peer review measuring global institutions against the 10 standards of the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) criteria.

HCT has also been awarded the prestigious CIQG 2019 Quality Award at the 2020 CHEA International Conference, recognizing outstanding performance of HCT in meeting the CIGQ International Quality Principles.

At the programmatic level, all programs offered by HCT are nationally accredited by the CAA.

In addition, HCT has a number of programs that are internationally accredited. Five programs from the Engineering and Technology Science Faculty are accredited by ABET- Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC), USA. Four programs in the Computer Information Science Faculty (CIS) are accredited by the Information System Technology Accreditation Commission (ISTAC) of Canada’s Association of IT Professionals (CIPS), Canada. All programs in the Business Faculty are internationally accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), USA. Finally, one program in the Health Sciences Faculty received accreditation from the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA), Australia.

In addition to academic quality assurance through external accreditors, HCT maintains rigor in academic quality assurance using the robust HCT academic quality assurance and review framework.
