Under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR), the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) holds institutional licensure from the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) to operate as a higher education institution. HCT is also recognized as an Accredited Training Provider by the National Qualifications Centre (NQC).

HCT has achieved international accreditation from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), the United Kingdom’s independent quality assurance body and a global leader in higher education quality assurance. This accreditation is awarded to institutions that successfully complete the QAA’s rigorous International Quality Review (IQR), an independent peer-review process that evaluates institutions against the ten standards of the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG).

HCT has also received the prestigious Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) International Quality Group (CIQG) Quality Award, presented at the 2020 CHEA International Conference. This award recognizes HCT’s outstanding achievement in demonstrating and advancing the CIQG International Quality Principles.

All HCT bachelor degree programs are nationally accredited by the CAA, while all vocational programs are nationally recognized by the NQC. In addition, eligible HCT programs hold international accreditation from respected professional accrediting bodies, including:

• ABET Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC), USA
• Information Systems Technology Accreditation Council (ISTAC) of the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), Canada
• Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), USA
• Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), USA

The Accreditation & Compliance Unit is responsible for managing institutional and program accreditation processes and ensuring compliance with national and international regulatory requirements. The department works closely with academic and administrative units to support accreditation activities, monitor compliance requirements, and maintain HCT’s recognized standards and accreditations.
